Whipped Strawberry Shortcake

One 10 ounce can of  refrigerated biscuits
2 tablespoons of butter, melted
2-4 tablespoons of  sugar
1/2 pint of  whipping cream
1 pint of  fresh or frozen strawberries, sliced & sweetened
Shortening or cooking oil
 

Separate biscuit dough into 10 biscuits. Gently press 2 biscuits together for each shortcake. Dip top and sides of each in melted butter, then in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake 14-17 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool slightly. Whip cream, split biscuits and fill with strawberries and cream. Top with additional berries and whipped cream.
