Sourdough Biscuits >

Sourdough Biscuits 8

1 cup of Sourdough Starter
2 cups of lukewarm water
1/3 cup of sugar
1 package of dry yeast
5 cups of flour (sifted)
1 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Dissolve yeast in water in a deep pan. Stir, add sugar, salt and starter. Add flour and mix into a batter. Cover with cloth, set in warm place to rise. When dough is doubled in size roll out on floured board until 3/4 inch thick. Cut into biscuits. Put about 1/8 inch bacon grease (or shortening) in baking pan. Dip each biscuit on both sides. Let rise until double in bulk. Bake in hot oven 425ºF. for 15-20 minutes.
