1 cup of granulated sugar 1 cup of powdered sugar 1 cup of butter or margarine, softened 1 cup of vegetable oil 2 eggs 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of vanilla 4 1/2 cups of flour granulated sugar
In a large mixing bowl, combine sugars, butter, oil, and eggs; beat until well blended. Beat in baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and vanilla. Gradually add flour; beat until well blended. Cover and chill well. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in granulated sugar. Place balls 2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Flatten with the bottom of a glass. Bake at 375ºF. 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Makes about 6 dozen cookies. |
