| Hearty Vegetable Stew
2 medium onions, diced 1 clove garlic, crushed 2 cups of cabbage, finely grated 3 carrots, sliced 1 cup of tomato puree 1 beef or chicken stock cube 3 tablespoons of oil 1 bay leaf 1 tablespoon of oregano 1 quart of water salt and pepper to taste 2 cups of medium egg noodles 1 pound of chicken necks or 3 soup bones, optional |

Sauté onions and garlic in oil in skillet. Add all other ingredients to pot, except noodles. Cover and cook on LOW for 12 - 18 hours. Cook the noodles according to package directions and add to pot during the last half hour of cooking. Serves 6 - 8
