Roast Rock Cornish Game Hens

four 1 pound Rock Cornish game hens
salt and pepper
1/3 cup of canned condensed margarine

1/4 cup of canned condensed consommé
1/4 cup of light corn syrup




Season the hens inside and out with salt and pepper. Stuff each with 1/4 cup stuffing. if desired. Place, breast side up, on rack in shallow pan and brush well with butter. Roast uncovered in oven 400ºF.   for about 45 minutes or until tender. During the last 15 minutes of baking time, baste several times with mixture of consommé and syrup. Makes 4 servings. Serve on platter with Browned rice or mushroom wild rice.
