| | Cabbage with Bacon
1/2 head cabbage 6 slices of bacon 1/2 cup of water 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar salt and pepper to taste
Cut through bacon slices 6 to 8 times. Fry bacon bits on high heat in a skillet until half cooked. Pour off most of the grease.
Cut cabbage into bite size pieces. Add to bacon, reduce heat to medium and cook for 2 minutes stirring occasionally. Add water and cover for 5 minutes, stir occasionally. Add more water if it becomes too dry.
Toss in vinegar, season to taste and serve. Makes 3 servings. |
