1 medium head of red cabbage, sliced 1/4 cup of butter 3 tablespoons of brown sugar 1/4 cup of chopped onion 2 firm tart apples, sliced 2 tablespoons of vinegar 1/2 teaspoon of caraway seeds 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of pepper 1/2 cup of grape juice
Sauté the cabbage in butter for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add brown sugar, onions, and apples, continue cooking for another 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients, cover and simmer slowly for 30 or 35 minutes, stirring occasionally.
