| | Sour Red Cabbage
1 head of red cabbage, shredded 1 onion, finely chopped 2 cooking apples, cored and cut up 1/4 cup of red wine vinegar 1/4 cup of water 1 tablespoon of firmly packaged brown sugar 1 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of pepper 1 tablespoon of butter
Combine all ingredients, except butter. Put into a 2 quart casserole. Dot with butter. Bake, covered, at 350ºF. for 1 hour, or until cabbage is tender. 6 servings |
