| Leek Stew
4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced 4 large leeks cut into rings 1 cup of beef broth 1 tablespoon of flour 2 tablespoons of milk 1 teaspoon of salt pepper 1/4 teaspoon of dried basil 1/4 teaspoon of dried thyme 1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg 1/2 pound of bacon, cut into slices 1/2 pound of bratwurst sausage, in one piece |

Place layers of potatoes and leeks in casserole. Add the beef broth, cover & simmer over a low heat 40 - 45 minutes. Stir together the flour & milk & add to the casserole. Season with salt, pepper, basil, thyme & nutmeg. Simmer the bacon & sausage in boiling water for 10 minutes. Cover the leek dish with slices of bacon and place the sausage on top. Cover and simmer gently over low heat for 10 minutes. Slice the sausage and arrange in the center of the dish for serving. 4 servings |
