2 1/2 cups of flour 2 teaspoons of baking powder 1/2 cup of butter 1 1/2 cups of sugar 1 egg, well beaten 1/4 teaspoon of salt 2 ounces of unsweetened chocolate, melted 1/4 cup of milk
Sift together flour and baking powder and reserve. Cream butter and sugar until light. Add egg, salt, and chocolate and beat well. Alternately mix the sifted ingredients and the milk into the butter mixture. Beat until thoroughly combined. Gather the dough together in one lump, cover with plastic wrap, and chill for 2 hours. Preheat oven to 350ºF. On a lightly floured board, roll out 1/2 of the dough at a time to a sheet 1/8 inch thick and cut into shapes with a small cookie cutter. Bake on greased cookie sheets for 10 minutes. Yield: 40 small cookies
