Christmas Eve Chocolate Cake

2 cups of sugar
2 cup of flour
1/2 cup of shortening
1/2 cup of butter Or Margarine
1 cup of water
1/4 cup of cocoa
1/2 cup of buttermilk
2 Eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Icing Ingredients
1/2 cup of butter or margarine
1/4 cup of cocoa
6 tablespoons of milk
1 Box Powdered Sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 cup of chopped nuts

Cake: Sift flour and sugar together. Bring butter, shortening, water and cocoa to a boil in a sauce pan. Pour over flour mixture while still hot. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Spoon into a large baking sheet with sides. Bake in a 400ºF.  oven for 20 minutes. Ice cake while still hot. Icing: Combine butter, cocoa and milk in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Serving Size: 6
