Fruitcake Cookies

1 cup of sugar
1 1/2 sticks of oleo
2 eggs, well beaten
2 1/2 cups of flour, self-rising
1 teaspoon of soda dissolved in 1 tbsp. water
1 cup of whiskey
1/2 pound of raisins
1/2 pound of candied fruit
1/2 pound of candied green cherries & 1/2 lb. candied red cherries
1/2 pound each of candied red & green pineapples
1 pound of pecans, chopped


Dredge fruit and nuts in some of flour. Mix butter and eggs. Then add flour. Then put nuts and fruit in. Add whiskey and soda water and mix well. Drop with a teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 30 minutes at 350ºF. 

Fruitcake Cookies 2

1 pound of chopped pecans
6 slices glazed pineapple
1 pound of mixed fruit
1 1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of milk
1 teaspoon of soda
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 pound of chopped dates
12 ounces of glazed cherries
1 cup of oleo
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of cloves
3 cups of flour

Cream butter, eggs, sugar and milk. Sift dry ingredients together and mix with other ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake at 350ºF.  until the edges show brown.
