1/4 cup of butter 2 tablespoons of flour one 3 ounce package of cream cheese 1 teaspoon of salt a pinch of cayenne pepper 1/4 teaspoon of garlic salt a pinch of nutmeg 1 cup of milk 1 cup of chicken bouillon 2 tablespoons of chopped pimento 1 cup of sliced cooked mushrooms 2 1/2 cups of diced cooked chicken 2 cups of cooked macaroni 1/2 cup of grated Swiss cheese
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Melt butter over low heat and blend in flour, cream cheese, salt, cayenne pepper, garlic salt, and nutmeg. Gradually add milk and bouillon, stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Add pimento, mushrooms, chicken and macaroni. Spoon mixture into greased 2 quart casserole. Top with cheese and bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned on top. Remove from oven, and serve hot. Serves 8 |
