2 1/2 pounds of red potatoes, peeled and cut 1/4 cup of butter or margarine 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon of salt 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder 2 cups of milk
Place the potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil and cook until potatoes are tender; drain in a colander. In same saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisking constantly, add next 4 ingredients and cook 1 minute. Whisking constantly, gradually add milk and cook until thickened. Add potatoes and stir until well coated. Serve warm. Yield: about 8 servings.
